Chat with Chet
Gentle like a breeze
Focused but at ease
He doesn’t play to impress, he caress-
es his horn
with his breath
With his touch,
with his soul,
with his heart
Wandering, does he know?
Where he wants to go?
(He) moves between fame and pain, he doesn’t aim
in vain
so he can’t get lost
he can’t be found,
always gone,
like his sound
It’s called resonance
When one sound makes another sound happen
It’s like when he plays
I hear his sound and lower my guard
It leaves me defenceless
Completely chance-less, disarmed by his charm
the rational grip, that restrains my emotion
Is blown away and sets my soul in motion
When he passed away
Not much left to say
They don’t know why, police testify, may-
be he thought
he could fly
(Well), so can I,
(and) so can you
On the day we die

Zimbabwe Birds

off they went
they loved africa
and africa seemed to love them back
the pleasant climate made them slow down their pace
the uncomplicated kindness and friendliness of the people
made their hearts open even more
working for these people was very gratifying
sharing knowledge and hope
the nearness of mother nature astounded them
the prince (to be) became a passionate birdwatcher
he would take hikes
looking for the rare, colourfull manifestations
of freedom
he could almost imagine
what it would feel like
to fly over the savanna
yellow, red and green
one day the prince was home alone
rocking his chair
he lost his balance
fell backwards
hit his head on the ground
lost consiousness
his tongue blocked his throat
he couldn’t breathe
and died

I got a funny feeling
There is something in the air
I don’t know where i’m going
And i don’t even care
There’s trouble in the East,
Greed in the West
A dessert in the South
And i just want to kick back and play my Bass out loud
Today i burried a man
I’m not sure if he’s a friend
I feel close and remote
But i don’t want to pretend

A Night in Baghdad

The yankee general appeared
On television every night
To tell us how bad the attack was needed
To tell us that we didn’t hate those people
We just had to fight the leaders
To get a regime change
He showed us funny video’s
Of a guy driving his car on a bridge
And then the bridge explodes behind him..
He talked about precision-bombing
That did not make any civilian causalities
Then one night in Bagdad,
The precision bombing hit a shelter
Hundreds of women and children, elderly..
People we were not at war with,
got massacred.
We didn’t see the black head disappeared from tv
4000 yankee boys ended up dead
And more than 100.000 ‘people we were not at war with’
Got murdered.
We all know what happened to Saddam Hoessein.
But what happened to Bush jr?
What happened to Dick Cheney?
Donald Rumsfeld? Colin Powell?
What happened to the yankee war criminals?
